What Is The Club About?
Simply we want you to have the biggest possible result at your children’s party that we can muster for you. The very best advice, help and performance. The club members are here to make sure this happens for you.
Why Form The Club?
Mr Mysto is one of the UK’s busiest, most experienced and loved children’s entertainers. He is much sort after and many people were asking for him for dates that he was already booked for. These potential client’s were then asking if we could recommend anyone else, this was something we were reluctant to do, as we were unsure of the quality of the acts, even though we knew of them and had heard some good reports about them.
Mr Mysto thought about setting up an agency, but after some thought realised this was fundamentally dishonest, as the client was unsure how much of their money the act actually received, and the act was unsure how much the client was paying for their services.
He wanted to be open and transparent with everyone.
The club was born, we find the right acts, check them and make sure they meet the required club standards and offer them membership of the club. Like all clubs there are rules, obligations and benefits.
Rules – Firstly they must sign up to the club client satisfaction guarantee. Second they must act in a professional manner at all times with everything they do.
Obligations – As with all clubs there is a membership fee to be paid, that’s how we are paid.
Benefits – they are guaranteed to make 10 times their membership fee in performance fees, if we fail to deliver that, we refund part of their club subscription. By having this obligation on ourselves is to stops the temptation (some perceive) on us, to sign up loads of acts and collect their club subscriptions.
How We Find Those Stunningly Good Acts
The answer is a variety of places; they include local magic clubs across the country, recommendation from client’s and existing members and acts we know and of course from the internet.
How We Check Them and What We Check
To start with we give acts some time for an informal chat on the phone; we are looking for a nice spoken voice, a confident personality and to generally sound them out.
Then we write to them offering a chance of a trail in the hope they will pass and go on to join the club. We do this to make sure they are interested in us. We explain what we would require from them and the benefits of joining the club. Membership is not offered at this point, simply a chance to be looked at and perhaps being offered membership if and when they are proven to be of the right, exacting, standard.
Acts who put themselves forward, are then watched performing shows in local halls in real life situations. We talk to some recent clients and local head teachers if they have any school shows in their recent history.
We may talk to Cubs, Beaver and Brownie leaders as well.
We check to make sure they have Advanced CRB certificates and the relevant Public Liability insurance.
We give them hypothetical situations to deal with; basically we ask - What would you do if this happened in one of your shows? Their answers must be something that we could see working in the real world and it must be a solution we are comfortable with.
Then we check their internal systems to make sure that they are handling bookings in a professional way. Are we confident that their system is going to get the right act to the right place at the right time on the right day, with the right equipment?
They are then invited to our offices to see how we work and to meet the staff they will be working with. They are then shown the contract that they need to sign
If, and only if, all this meets our very high standards and the act is willing to sign up to the club Rules and Obligations, is membership offered.
Statistically, only 1 in 20 makes it through to full membership, all the others drop off along the way for one reason or another. The most common reason for not making it is the unwillingness to sign up for the guarantee. However, it is fundamental to the club that the client has the last word on whether an act is worth the fee or not.
How Are We Paid
Simply and only through club subscriptions, no money you pay goes to us, once acts have earned the promised amount they pay another club subscription, it really is that simple. I want you to view that, a bit like them placing an order in Yellow Pages or the Local Paper. The difference is these publications and many others like them, will take anyone with a cheque book; we will only take the very best of the best.
What You Receive
Easy really – what you want! We will of course help you, but in short you can have a magician appear at your party or event for a one hour show, for a two hour party (some do longer) with magic in one half and games in the other half.
The event can be in your home or a local hall; we can even help you book a venue if you wish. We can include Party Bags or not as you wish. We can arrange a junior disco, a live bunny rabbit, balloon modelling, circus skills and just about anything else you want.
Our acts all have their own sound equipment, music for dancing for instance and microphones if you have lots of people and the act needs a mic.
We can even organise the party food if you want us to.
Basically your wish is our command, but if you are not sure what will be best for you or you want us to help you decide, then we are more than happy to do so. Importantly you are under no obligation when you talk to us and I promise you will not feel under pressure.

Party Bags
Party Bags are almost compulsory at parties these days and I suggest you follow the trend. I believe it is a mistake to open your youngster up to comments in the play ground along the lines of “we didn’t get a party bag at your party” and “your mum is mean” etc. As adults we could handle such comments, but the children?
Next you must decide how much you wish to spend on them and if they need to fit a theme. Our thinking is that Party bags should be a token thank you for coming to the party and not a Rolls Royce each and as such we have arranged for our club members to keep party bags in stock. Three advantages for using our Party Bags…
We bulk buy the items that go into our party bags in huge quantities, so something you pay a £1 for in the shops, we pay a handful of pennies for. So we can fill a party bag at a fraction of the cost you normally would spend. You only pay for the ones you use. Most clients don’t know how many guests will actually come along to the party. Last minute drop outs and sickness often means clients have purchased too many party bags and they have a small number of wasted ones left over at the end. Using ours you only pay for the ones you use, so no feelings of wastage.
We arrange for the act to make a bag of balloon animal sculptures so that each of the children will take home a balloon model in one hand and a Party Bag in the other. A touch that will make your party a bit more special.

If for any reason whatsoever you do not agree that the entertainer we provide for your party is truly great, that their show is targeted at the right age for your children, it’s not too old or too young for them. That your children were sitting boggle eyed, laughing and giggling all the way through. That the games (if you book them) are fun for the children and they were happy and excited to play them. That the entertainer’s rapport with the children is fun, professional, but always in control, and the whole event goes to your complete satisfaction, then simply say so on the day and our entertainer will cancel your bill, and you will not owe a penny.

Why Do We Offer A Guarantee

So many of our enquirers have had a bad experience, some at their own parties in the past and some at other parties that they have been to. They are now thinking and in many cases saying to us, how can I be sure you are not going to be like some other entertainers we have seen? How can I be sure you are as good as you say you are? Every entertainer tells me they are great and it is difficult to know who the best is. These are real problems and we solve them by saying you are in control, you decide on the day if we live up to the promise and if we don’t cut it for you, then your party is free. At the very least you are booking someone who has a huge amount of confidence in their own ability. Do you think our club members would sign up to the guarantee if they thought you would call it in? I think not, and history supports my thinking, no-one has ever seen fit to tell one of our entertainers they are rubbish and they are not going to pay them. However, it is up to you, you are in 100% control.
Our entertainers are human and like all humans they have days when they don’t feel 100% right, or things in their lives are not going as they would wish, but you and your guests are quite rightly not interested in the entertainer’s problems and we want the entertainer to know that. So on the way to every party, they are saying to themselves “I have to be good at this one, otherwise there is a chance the client will call the guarantee in, and I won’t get paid”. We like this thinking because you are not interested in an okay job, and neither are we, it has to be great or better.

How We Make Sure Everything Happens As It Should
Obviously mistakes should not happen, but systemising the whole procedure means mistakes are very rare indeed. Statistically you have more chance of being struck by lightening than us making a mistake, this is why…
When you book we will take all the necessary details and then shop around for the best available act for you. Basically we buy your “wish list”. For most of our clients their wish list looks something like this…
An act that is free for the time, day and duration they want
An act that is going to be great for their party (comes as standard of course)
Money – we have never yet had a client with an unlimited budget
Any other special requests they might have
We call all club members in the area where your party will be held. Clearly we don’t want to pay an act to travel long distances unless we have to (it is very rare). When we find the right act for you we will book them on the phone as soon as we can, we don’t want to take a chance of losing them to another booker.
We then call you to confirm we have booked an act; we can at that stage answer any specific questions you may have about the act.
Then the booking form the Party Adviser completed is passed to our Confirmations Department, they complete all the necessary formalities in house and our system sends out two letters, one to you and one to the act. Both these letters are identical and confirm all the details i.e Date, Times, Venue, Duration, Act, Fee etc.
We tell you the acts telephone number so if you wish to talk to them, then you are free to do so. Of course, after you have booked our help goes on in any way you wish. If you have a question or a challenge then give us a call and tell us how we can help you.
The client copy of the confirmation letter is sent in the post, it shows you that we have understood all the details of your party and we have recorded them correctly. Obviously if an error should occur you have a chance to correct it before it becomes critical i.e. on the day.
The entertainer receives his/her copy by E.Mail this confirms the earlier telephone booking. The act has to confirm to us, again by E.Mail, that the booking is recorded on their individual system. When we receive that confirmation from the act, our system then goes from red to black. If for any reason a day or two after the booking is made we have not received confirmation from the act, we will chase it.
The day before your party, we contact the act again to make sure all is okay, it is a bit belt and braces but it is better than human error that…. well you know!
Nothing in life is 100% certain, but we do our utmost to make sure your act is just as it should be for you, and everyone has a great time at your party.

Simply write a cheque or pay cash if you prefer. Cheques do need a bankers card number on the back. You can pay via our office by credit/debit card, simply call us before your party if you wish to do that and we will charge your card after the event.
